EFT (EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUES) is most simply described as a form of emotional acupressure – like acupuncture but mercifully without the use of needles! It is a safe and non-invasive technique which is slowly but surely making inroads into mainstream healthcare. As the NHS creaks under the demand for its services to address illness, energy-based modalities such as EFT are offering a dynamic approach to maintaining wellness. EFT is recognised as a bona-fide therapy by the British Association of Counselling. Where clients are open to the approach I will integrate it into my talk-based counselling and coaching sessions. EFT can also be used very effectively and powerfully as a stand-alone therapy in its own right – take a look below to see EFT in action within the NHS.
Gentle tapping on the energy meridians of the body can neutralize disruptions in an individual’s energy system. DIS-EASE in your energy system which is not addressed can eventually show up as disease in your body. Whether it is used as a stand-alone therapy or as form an adjunct to other forms of help, EFT can often bring relief and resolution to physical and emotional problems where other approaches have failed, even where there has been deep trauma.
However, you don’t need to be deeply traumatised to benefit from EFT. It can simply be built into your life as a fabulous relaxation and self-care tool. When coupled with Touch for Health balances and Meridian Massage it can be hugely effective in addressing a huge range of difficulties such as:-
- Resolving stubborn emotional discomfort
- Resolving persistent physical discomfort which is confounding medical health professionals as there is no apparent physiological cause
- Removing cravings and phobias
- Addressing difficulties in letting go of past emotional pain
- Addressing confidence and self-esteem issues
- Removing self-sabotaging beliefs which hinder progress in coaching
- Aligning the conscious and subconscious mind
It is indeed a very versatile modality!
To improve my service to my clients, I have also trained in foundational Traditional Chinese Medicine with the Big School of Natural Healing so that I can offer guidance on additional acupressure points which my clients can use to support their progress between sessions with me.
